Question on music choice for American missions

Post by Jamrom2 on Tue Aug 15, 2017 5:02 am

    Gents,

    Loving this game immensely...

However, I noticed the music that plays when an American mission is completed successfully is totally wrong for this era. As awesome as the song is, it's from an era 10 years past WWII.

Can I suggest a few songs that would match the era better?

The Andrews Sisters - Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfWc52smNs8

Glenn Miller and his Orchestra - A String Of Pearls
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qq2AV7Wx5w

Glen Miller .... In The Mood
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2aqHGaSxRI

And pretty much anything Big Band 1940's.

I'm suggesting this only because it just sounds funny listening to Elvis Presley while driving a Sherman tank. I should be in a sweet '57 Chevy Bel Air instead... lol.

Well, I'm not good at American music 1940-45. No wonder Embarassed
I'll place the new samples in the game as a victory song, but I need  a music in case of fail also.

    BTW
Where did u get E. Presley?
Would u like to make a mod with US music and presented it to SF Community?

Jamron2... However, I noticed the music that plays when an American mission is completed successfully is totally wrong for this era. As awesome as the song is, it's from an era 10 years past WWII.

If we are to stay within just WWII genre music for the missions, then since they are military missions, would we not also stay with military genre music such as the music composer John Philip Sousa wrote? Wink

Although I do enjoy "Big Band/Swing/ Western Swing/Jazz/Dixieland Jazz/Pop" music genres from the WWII era. Personally, I feel the music should be left to the author of the mission.

Is it not what the author feels is best suited for the mission they are creating? Smile
