    New guy :)

Post by Belphe on Wed Apr 05, 2017 10:00 am

    Hello Everyone!

I just discovered SF:K1942 and instantly fell in love! I'm 35 years old and a big fan of the WWII era armour. I feel relieved to see this game is still alive - the official forum seemed dead and I was worried. With the help of the guides here and your AMAZING mod I hope to get on the battlefield in no time! Smile

    Nice meeting you All!

I've recently upgraded my PC to higher standards:
    - i7 Core 7700K @4.2GHz
    - GTX 1080FTW 8Gb VRAM @3860 x 2160
    - 16Gb RAM @3000MHz

Hopefully, STA does wonders to this sim as at the moment I'm having all sorts of issues setting it up correctly (top of the screen cut off, VERY blurred textures and the game not seeing my VRAM). However, I've already found threads about these issues and as soon as I'm back home I'll start sorting then out. Smile

MMMMMM, with such minimal specs I wonder if you'll even be able to play the tutorials with more than 10 fps?????? Shocked

Welcome to the forum! BTW I found out that SF is very undemanding on the cpu. Whereas any modern games title AAA makes my cpu hot up to 90 degrees C SF only takes it to 67 to 68 C even in very demanding missions.

Wink What I meant was, the newer the hardware the more problems it may create for 8-year-old games such as SF..

And here w go: the auto fix for the missing top edge of the screen does not work for me and the file I need to manually modify doesn't exist in the game folder at all..

    Q. The upper part of the message is not visible on the monitor. How to fix it?
    A. D/l and install Fix Widescreen Bug or make a fix manually:
    1. Open with Notepad(Notepad++) the next file:
    ...data\k42\loc_rus\levels\levels\interf\interf.engcfg
    2. Find the entry:
    Quote
    con_text, text, 512, 64, 80, 1, 0xffffffff, true, con, 1, 0xffd0e0e0, 8, 12, , , true;
    3. Change it 1->.8
    Finally:
    Quote
    con_text, text, 512, 64, 80, .8, 0xffffffff, true, con, 1, 0xffd0e0e0, 8, 12, , , true;
    4. Save.

This fix works only with resolution 1920x1080.
Have no idea why you can't find the file interf.engcfg.

    Main Height=301
    Main Left=581

Yes, please install STA 1.2. You can get the mod here:

    http://stasf2008.ephpbb.com/t6-steel-tank-add-on-steel-fury-1-2

To avoid the use of Torrents you can download it at that page from:

"STA 1.2 - D/L LINKS - FOR ANY VERSION (INCLUDING ENGLISH VERSION):"

The proper install order for English version is:

    1. SSM 2.3 (Steel Sound Mod)
    2. STA 1.0
    3. GMP1.x (optional)
    4. GMP2.x (optional)
    5. GMP3.x (optional)
    6. SepUpd_2015
    7. fixSTA1.2_July2016

    03. 4Gb patch. It is ONLY for Windows 7,8,10 owners. See also.
    04. Aspect 16:9. It is ONLY for wide-screen monitor(16:9) owners.

    Is STA 1.0 + Sep15 update = STA 1.2? That's my install presently.

Should FixSTA 1.2_June16 be applied to that installation?

I got it to work!!! 3860 x 2160, high res textures, no cut off edges, 16:9 aspect, great fun!! Thanks to all that helped!!!

When I learn the ropes I'm definitely getting a v3! BTW, what are the changes between STA 1.2 and 3.2??

    - added new missions to GMP 4.10:
    28. Palyonka, 5th July 1942, 06:00 (Т-34/76/42 STZ)
    29. Bliznovsky, 5th July 1942, 17:00 (Т-34/76/42 STZ)
    30. Big Boss, 5th July 1942, 06:00 (М3 "General Lee")
    31. Outpost Desert Sands, 26th NOV 1942, (M3/75)
    32. Sweet Little R'N'Roller, 05.06.42, (М3A1/Stuart)
    - fixed some minor bugs with APC M3/75
    - added new missions, GMP 4.10:
    31. Outpost Desert Sands, 26th NOV 1942, (M3/75)
    - added new mission to Campaign "The weapon of victory" (T-34/85):
    09. Bart, Czechoslovakia, 22.02.1945, 16:30
    - tank T-34/85 completely re-designed and equipped with a cockpit
    Three mdifications are available:
    1. spring 1944
    2. autumn 1944
