    Now how do I adjust the body part position of infantry in the OE? And names in go/anims do not correspond to the _places file for which infantry for each position. For example, sdkfz_pass is a common one, but where is it in the .go file?

    There is a file, which contains a kit of animations.
    ...data\k42\loc_rus\levels\LEVELS\common\anims.engcfg

    Each animation corresponds the specific activity and has unique name, i.e:
    grant_pass2,sit_techn2,DriverDeath,sit_techn2,sit_techn2,sit_techn2,sit_techn2,sit_techn2,sit_techn2,sit_techn2;
    where:
    - grant_pass2 is a common name, which located in the file "places"
    - sit_techn2 is a name of a specific animation, which u can play/see in OE.

    Thanks, I am working on adding up to 21 infantry to the same tank. Then I will add them to others as they can fit.

    I found the anims, now how do I change them in the OE?

    U can't. U may use only already prepared or create the new ones in 3D max, but it's not easy deal.

    Unfortunately, u can't seat down desant on the tank in OE. Each time after dummy adjusting, u've to start the game and see how it looks.

    little white cube it is dummies or chanks Smile It is not a physical object. It is an virtual point, which has a space coordinates: x,y,z.

    What about XNALara, couldn't it be helpful in both above cases?
    It's a 3D Model Viewing and Posing tool, created by moders of Tomb Raider Underworld.

    I've no 3d modelling skill, so don't treat as an advice, but as a hypothesis only.

    I'm sure that any 3D tools would be good to make a new desant pose. Someone prefer 3D max, someone XNALara. The final result depends on patience and desire to implement it. SF has some animations, which don't use anywhere, like "contusion" or "surrender"/"injured" etc. So, they could be replaced with a new ones and enabled as a desant poses.

    I've nothing against new desant poses, but IMO the top of the list of needs is as follows:

    1. BMW-R12 motorbike driver (the present driver, taken from the truck and put on the bike, looks like a man with polio disease). There are 2 missions with BMW-R12 as the player's vehicle, and for that reason I placed it as "need #1".

    2. Cannoneers are optimized for AT guns only, not for AAA. In particular 8.8 cm Flak-36 staff needs corrections: it's both gunners should seat on their seatings and one of them should be oriented backwards.

    3. Cromwell staff. In paricular the mgunner isn't properly fixed to his MG, what can be seen very well from the driver's position. The mgunner needs also dedicated specially to him unbuttoned position. The driver should keep his hands on the steering levers. The rest of the tankmen is quite good, or rather their poses incompatibility with the cockpit is not so easy to notice. The Cromwell by STA is so delightful, that is obvious for me that it's worthy of dedicated to it the poses set.

    4. Tiger driver, borrowed from T-34, operates with non-existing steering levers instead of the existing and animated steering wheel. The mgunner, in a driver pose, doesn't look natural. These are details, but the Tiger is an icon, a lot of players start the moded game with this tank.

    Generally, the aspect of soldiers' poses is in some contrast with high-fidelity work of art presented by STA team in areas of 3d modelling, texturing and mission development.

    What do you think about creating a new sticky-type topic "List of needs" or "List of wishes" ?
    Topic "Mission for request" already exists, but I mean a bit wider spectrum of wishes.
    If "Yes", my post may be used for the opening.

    I've never worked with the OE much, how do I get the animations to show up in the right hand box? I pulled up GINFA and there is nothing to choose from in the animations.

    U have to pick up the biggest file:
    data\k42\loc_rus\go\anims\anims.go
    Then place chosen animation in the two right down boxes (pink color). Then press play ">" to start and "S" to stop.

    I hardly think, u'll find smth. more then it is already implemented. Without skill of 3d modeling it's impossible to create the new animation/pose.

    This is good idea! I think "List of wishes" would be suitable, but don't forget we're not a wizards jocolor

    That was what I needed! cheers I just needed to find some poses that would work with the desant positions, i.e., a pose where the foot is not showing through the armor:

    Now, how do I view a weapon in their hand rather than slung around their back? Soldiers would carry their weapons on their lap or in their hands. I would like to be able to view the weapon in their hand in the OE.

    Thanks, Lockie!

    New unit Pz IV H schurzen with 21 desant, not perfect, but at least the feet don't go through the schurzen! I tried to find a standing position with arms extended for holding on, but couldn't make it work. From a distance it looks pretty good:

    I can't get war_call1 or indicate1 to work in the ME. It defaults to a prone position. A kneeling pose won't work at that spot, and the standing poses with hand(s) extended won't reach anything unless I lower them or put them partially into the tank. Perplexing why the two won't work outside the OE!

    lockie wrote:Yes, it is complicated. I've presented detailed explanation to clear out some moments with AI behavior in the tank. Anyway, all combinations of flags already presented. U just need to pick up what is necessary.

    Let's go to the pre-final stage of the infantry mounting!
    U need to write down the new unit into the file:
    ...Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\data\k42\loc_rus\levels\LEVELS\common\common_units.engcfg
    1. First we need to define the crew members in the cockpit for the tank with a desant, where crewmembers must have a specific names.
    Open file with notepad++, block units() and put the next entries in:

    //*Pz.IV crewmembers for desant
    weru_tleuten_a,i_human,hum_cfg\ger.engcfg,tleuten,%SIDE_GERMAN%,0,0,wp_commander,1.25;
    weru_tankman_c,i_human,hum_cfg\ger.engcfg,tankman,%SIDE_GERMAN%,0,0,wp_gunner,;
    weru_tankman_d,i_human,hum_cfg\ger.engcfg,tankman,%SIDE_GERMAN%,0,0,wp_driver,;
    weru_tankman_e,i_human,hum_cfg\ger.engcfg,tankman,%SIDE_GERMAN%,0,0,wp_loader,;
    weru_tankman_f,i_human,hum_cfg\ger.engcfg,tankman,%SIDE_GERMAN%,0,0,wp_mgunner,;

    I am duplicating the above for the tan chamo schurzen pz4ha and pz4h desant. Do I need different crewmembers for each type, even though they are still on the pz IV? Could this, using the same crewmembers above, cause the game to not load past 90%? Or is it something else? I have used the Pz IV F2 as an example to create the new Pz IV H Tan chamo and Pz IV H Green chamo desants, but still cannot get either one to show up in the game....only in the ME. I'm stumped!

    Many of my desant troops do not have weapons!

    Here is the groups() file:

    //desant 21x infantrymen
    wer_inf21_dsnt,150,1,weru_rifleman,9,weru_mgunner,4,weru_sergant,3,weru_autogunner,5,,,,;

    I should have lots of weapons showing, but I only see a few??? Is it because the poses I used, i.e., mk3_driver_out, don't have weapons assigned to them because they are normally inside the tank?
