    Sighting bug?

    Why did my sight become so? Not a circle but an ellipse.

    This is the result of the new effects file in the cd folder of the various versions of STA 2.0/2.1/2.2 and 3.1 . The new current value of the( improved) effects file is 65 kbs .If you have an older copy of SF - pre STA 2.1 or 2.2 - try copying the effects file which should be only 61 KBs and subsittute it for the existing one and your problem will be solved.I have had that issue myself.

    Thank you for your offer. I tried, unfortunately, no effect. Sad . I installed the STA1.2 patch. The effects file is 61k. It is means that this is an older version of the effects file. In fact, not only the sight of deformation, but the deformation of the entire screen. Seems to be the resolution of the game does not match the monitor. The best resolution for my monitor is 1440x900(16:10). I forced the display resolution to 1440x810(16:9). The screen returns to normal. The cost is two black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.

    Hi yl9961027,

    To fix that problem you have to set the "aspect ratio" to 0 in the config.engcfg file (aspect = 0;). In this way Steel Fury sets the aspect ratio according to the screen resolution that you set.

    In STA 1.2 the "aspect ratio" is set to 16/9 and that's why you are having the problem.

    Please, try it and report your results here !

    Sorry yyl9961027 I misunderstood the nature of your problem. I thought you were referring to the fact that your gunsight is not clear and appears blurry in the photo you posted. Your problem is the size so Txema hit the problem right on with his solution.

    I changed the aspect ratio to 0. The screen is not stretched. But....

    Aspect ratio has become 4: 3! And...
    The screen size selection box has nothing.

    I do not upload pictures. Because in addition to the aspect ratio, everything is normal. The reticle is perfectly round, not elliptical.

    Hi yl9961027,

    Please go to: data\k42\loc_rus\config\

    And edit the file config.engcfg

    Set:

    Code:
    bb_wid = 1440;
    bb_hei = 900;

    aspect = 0;
    Please, try this, it should work !!

    I did it. Here are the results.

    Stretch effects are eliminated, but new problems arise. The second image is the external view. But I can not see anything.

    And, when I play the game, config.engcfg will become like this:

    To avoid that's imply right click on the file's property and make it read only click apply and save.

    I have turned it into a read-only file, but the screen has become 4:3. It seems I have to consider buying a new monitor.

    YL, if u've monitor with aspect 4:3 or 5:4 then try this mod - "aspect 4:3". It is for the STA3.1. Don't forget to create the new user profile.
    Installation:
    1. SSM2.5
    2. Polygons v.1.0 Part 1, Part 2
    3. STA3.1
    4. 4Gb patch (manually)
    5. u05_OctUpd2016
    6. u07_OctUpd2016
    7.  v.1.1_aspect_4-3_STA3.x
    8. Weather mod

    BTW
    I was sure that only me has monitor with aspect 5:4 Smile
