    This is the final a December Update in 2016! The purpose is ability to test the new mission with Japan side: Skirmish on the river Khalkhin-Gol (GMP4.x). Description.
    I've to say the mission looks a very exotic and almost completely differ to compare with a current ones! I'm sure it'll bring in the game a new atmosphere and immersion!

    Mediafire says the download link to Nov Upd 2016 has been deleted or is invalid. If you install Dec Upd 2016 do you still need Nov Upd 2016?

    Also, for STA 3.1 I do not see any of the game packs in the mod install order. Are they included in STA 3.1?

    Asking because I just donated for access to STA 3.1.

    Yes, all GMP's included in STA3.x. See PM for details.

    Just downloaded and installed STA 3.1 with all associated mods.  Followed Lockie's mod install instructions to the letter.  The game will not start.  I get the following message..."This app can't run on your PC".  Am running Win10 with plenty of horsepower.  I installed a new version of the base game for STA3.1, and have a previous version running STA 1.2 Full.  The STA 1.2 Full version runs just fine.  I do not know if this is an install problem, a Win10 problem, or what.  Anybody have this problem with STA 3.1 and found a solution? Discussion.

    I have 1.2, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 3.0 and 3.1 all working fine with Windows 10 on 3 different laptops or desktops.

    Try setting your game's compatibility to Window Vista ( Service Pack 2) and see if it solves your problem.

    I have seen johnf's post in the STA 3.1 test forum about funny graphics in the Achtung Panzer missions. I am seeing the same thing, and was looking for the mission file cm_achtung to attempt the same weather fix that Lockie suggested. I am running STA 3.1 fully updated to the current Dec 2016 updated level. However, when I search through all of the files in the game, the cm_achtung file is nowhere to be found. I can run most of the mission in Achtung Panzer with no problem, but the Dubno, Brody, and the last mission in the campaign have all got the same graphics problem. So, where in the game is the cm_achtung file located? I have looked for it in all the ....levels/LEVELS folders, i.e. in the base game, STA 3.1 mod, NovUpd2016 mod, and the DecUpd2016 mod. It is nowhere to be found, but when I run, for example, the Dubno mission, it shows up in the current mission config folder under pointing to the cm_achtung file in levels/LEVELS, etc. So, where is the file cm_achtung???

    I'd like to present the very unique mission: On the way to Otradnoye. (T-34/42)


    This mission was made the first for SF in 2007. Also there was featured the very first polygon, which was mad by author xream.
    The mission itself is a very simple:
    1. attack first enemy defence line
    2. capture the village and repel the counter-attack
    BUT whatever it may seem to be simple, I've never finished it Very Happy
    Well, to say the truth, I didn't finish any missions by xream jocolor
    That's why I was wonder why? And perhaps this fail pushed me to investigate mission's scripts more detailed.
    Now original mission re-designed(as well as polygon) and became more straight and simple. Though, the base idea is the same, but more unpredictable. I've added history note and changed the main hero T-34/76 mod.41 on the T-34/76 mod.1942 with a square outer fuel tanks. Action take place on July 1943 when the Soviet 26th Guards Tank Brigade moved to Obojan via the village Otradnoe, which held on with a parts of GrossDeutschland Division.
    It'll be included in the FebUpd 2017.

    There are some screens.
    At the start position user must meet with an infantry platoon, then attack the first enemy defence line.


    After the first task has been completed, we have to capture the village Otradnoye.


    During our movement we'll meet the enemy counter-attack with a STUG IIIF at the balance "5". U've to be attentive, coz any STUG' hit may lead to the game over Smile


    During mission execution I've lost driver and had to fix my track.


    Finally the village captured!

    I've got 17(!) hits and my achievement was quite impressive:

    - 3x STUG

    The new mission "Day of Defence" is coming!

    It is the last mission made by xream for SF in 2007. The polygon is the same as previous one. It goes without saying that original script was changed in a big manner, but whatever it seems to be changed the the main idea is the same - protect the village Otradnoye and wait for reinforcement. This time the main hero is T-34/76 mod.43 with Commander cupola.
    Firstly, u've to go into village and occupy a defence position. This is a very important to find a good hideout!

    Then prepare to shoot at enemy!

    Hold on until reinforcement come, then counter-attack the enemy!


    I've lost only loader. T-34/76/43 is quite reasonable tank against Pz.III/IV.


    I'd recommend the balance N3-4, coz N5 is more difficult. U've to be always try to hide er tank in bushes and shoot at enemy units. The distance started more than 1000 meters.

    First mission "Ponyri July 1943" is ready! The total missions number is 12! Suppose during next month all of them will be adjusted to STA standards.
    The mission itself is a very easy, BUT in case if u know what should be done Smile U've tank KV-1s (light version of KV-1).
    The secret is - as faster as possible move to the garden and make an ambush. Stupid AI doesn't has any ideas where u shoot at him rendeer
    Here's my ambush inside of the garden. AI can't see the tank, thus a victory is a deal of a time.

    SIX missions for the SOV side are ready!

    16. Farmstead 1st May, 7th July 1943, 09:30 (KV-1s)
    17. Slaughter at Ponyri, 8th July 1943, 19:30 (T-70)
    18. Stay to the death! 7th July 1943, 10:00 (KV-1s)
    19. Goreloye, 9th July 1943, 13:30 (SU-122)

    So far, the most hardest is mission N20. user has one tank T-34 and should attack German trenches overfilled with infantry. The chance to get a victory is 0% At least for me. The second mission impossible is N17. user has 3xT-70 and must attack in front on the plain area the German trenches protected with ATG's. Zero chance to get a victory. Mission N19 is the easiest. All u need - just stay on the same place and shoot at stupid AI till ammo is out.

    Let's start the missions for the GER side!

    The first one is:
    22. Ponyri, 7th July 1943, 03:30 (Pz.III ausf.N)
    Mission is difficult, coz u've to fight in the darkness against T-34, but Pz.III/N was not organized as a tank-destroyer. It is a pure assault gun worked out to support infantry.
    23. Goreloye, 9th July 1943, 13:30 (StuG III ausf.G)
    24. Farmstead 1st May, 07.07.43, 9:30 (Brummbar)
    25. Cavalry is coming! 07.07.43, 10:30 (Ferdinand)
    26. Ponyri, 7th July 1943, 17:30 (Pz.III ausf.N)
    27. Ponyri, 8th July 1943, 06:30 (Ferdinand)

    Scenarios of all missions based on the activity of the Kampfgruppe under the command of Major Bruno Kahl.

    The spear of the gruppe was Sturmpanzer Abteilung 216 (consist of Brumbar) and Panzerjager Abteilung 654 (consist of Ferdinand).

    Mostly all missions it's a pure frontal attack on the open space under ferocious fire of the Soviet artillery. I'd make replacement at least in one mission PzIII/N on Pz.III/L, but finally had conclusion to leave as it is, coz it corresponds to the real activity in the area of Ponyri, 1943.
    I've to confess that insignia's of the units are almost completely confusing pardon So, if someone has desire to improve them or put on the right ones, then be my guest!

    I'd like to announce the ALL 12 missions, which were made by Deviator on the base of Ponyri polygon finally were ported to ST3.1!

    I had to redone all of them and specified according to the STA3.1 requests. Though, I've to confess that mostly all missions were adjusted in a short manner, just to be presented. Anyway, all of them now are under working conditions and u may test them out to get into the FEROCIOUS JULY 1943! All missions will be available in the April Update 2017 STA3.1.
    Personally, the most exiting mission it is "Ferocious Morning", where user has under his command a "Ferdinand" and have to fight against a hordes of the Soviet tanks and infantry!

    U must always to be in a movement and find a proper ambush position. Also don't forget that Ferdinand doesn't has an MG. So, the first task is - provide acover to the friendly infantry in the trenches or u'll lose the battle a very quick without a small smg's fire!

    Let's start the new mission's kit by Deviator based on the polygon Blizna. The action of all missions took place in July 1942. It was an answer of the Soviet side on the Germany operation Fall Blau. According to the data, the Soviet offensive failed and brought a many casualties and tanks losses were abt. ~3000pcs.


    Here's a short history note.
    THE OFFENSIVE OF 61ST AND 16TH ARMIES IN JULY 1942
    The Western Front's left-flank operation, undertaken in the period of 5-12 July 1942 by forces of 61st and 16th Armies, was intended to assist the Briansk Front forces, where the enemy, having by now penetrated the defense, had successfully developed an offensive against Voronezh. Under these conditions, the rout of the enemy's Zhizdra and Bolkhov Groupings opened the way to thwarting the German offensive against Voronezh. Therefore, the most frenzied enemy resistance could be expected as soon as we attacked Bolkhov and Zhizdra, the vulnerable areas in his groupings.
    In the preparation and conduct of these operations, it was necessary to consider that the enemy had been fortifying his defensive positions for three months before the front of 16th and 61st Armies. In this time he had created a deep defense, built field-type engineer structures not only on the forward edge, but also in the depth, and had developed antitank and antipersonnel obstacles.

    The polygon itself is a plain area with some houses and trees. It is a very good area for the tanks duels at the distance ~2km
    There are presented 9 missions. 4 for the GER side and 5 for the Soviet side.

    3. Finally, the warning message about insufficient memory of the videocard was changed on the new one with recommendation check the option "No video mode restrictions".

    I've played the first mission on the polygon Bliznovo and have to say it is short (~10min.), but a very intensive and exiting action!
    There are 3xT-34/76 (STZ) and infantry platoon under user's command. Tanks produced on the STZ(Stalingrsd) factory were the worst. There were cases when tankmen refused to come into the battle or fixed the gas pedal inside the tank then leave it out and vehicle moves alone without crew.
    In the game all tanks T-34/76 has the same quality. So, no need to be worry abt tanks made in STZ factory Smile
    From the begining I've sent my wingmen to assault the village meanwhile my tank stayed at their back and cover them  pirat  Unfortunately, this tactics didn't bring me a positive resalt Smile
    After ~5-6 unsuccessful tries, I decided to lower balance to "3" level and rushed to the village at the highest speed. This time I've managed to breakthrough the enemy defence and came into the center. Right immediataly my track was off after a hit. It was a first time, then I had to fix tracks another two times!  Fighting
    German infantry can't do anything with my armor, but was a very suceed to take out my tracks. So, finally it became boring to me fix these damned caterpillars and I decided to stay on the same place and shoot whatever catch my eye! viking
    And finaly after a while I've got a message - mission over!  happy  happy

    During mission THREE tanks had also the same problem with tracks. Perhaps, the armor thickness of the wheels should be increased.
