    Low FPS on fast CPU and AA tweak causes black menu screen

    Hi,
    I'm new to SF which I bought about a week ago after looking at it for months. Now I'm honestly blown away by the simulator after what the mod community has done to it.

    Now, I am having issues with low fps and AA not working for SF with STA 1.0 enabled.

    I've tried to read every single thread about optimising details but keep running into the CPU hitting 100% and the frames dropping. I've installed the mods using Generic mod installer in the order of SSM ,STA, GMP1/2/3, SepUp_2015, fix_widscreen, Weather_Schorcing_summer_1.3_STA.

    For instance placying the missiong 'siiverti' (GMP 3) always drops the fps to around 35-40 fps. It seems to be only when viewing towards the enemy. It's the same situation in many of the missions. Perhaps it's just normal?

    My config is below. It's fairly standard from what I've seen around the forums. There are some settings that I haven't been able to find any description of in terms of what they changes in the game such as...

    -  'use_32bit_inds' is good or bad for perf?  
    - what each 'lod_dist0/1/2' actually means for what can be seen in the sim?
    - 'shad_half_prec' has what impact on the rendering?

    For AA I used the Nvidia Inspector and created a profile with the '12C1' setting added. If I add any AA 2/4/8... the menu screen never appears, just a black screen. I can add Anisotropic filtering without issues... anybody else had this problem?

    FPS 35-40 is more than normal! It is excellent fps for SF!
    Sometimes, I've fps 8-12 Smile
    U may check out the mission "Destroy the Fatherland", GMP3.x, No34. As my point it is the most resourceful mission in STA.

    - what each 'lod_dist0/1/2' actually means for what can be seen in the sim?

    10. Q. I have a good computer and want to increase the quality of the game models. What should I do?
     A. It is possible to increase the distance for the LODs(Level Of Detail).
    Open with Notepad++ this file:
    ...data\k42\loc_rus\config\config.engcfg
    Make changes in these entries:
    lod_dist0 = 25.000000;
    lod_dist1 = 150.000000;
    lod_dist2 = 0.000000;
    to
    lod_dist0 = 750.000000;
    lod_dist1 = 1000.000000;
    lod_dist2 = 0.000000;
    Save.

    lod_dist0 does that u'll se the first LOD of the tank/object/flora at the distance 0-750 meters. First LOD is most resourceful.
    lod_dist0 750-1000 meters
    lod_dist2 >1000 meters

    Try to switch off AA in the main menu of the video driver.

    I concur 35 to 40 fps is great! I play the same mission at 25 to 30. Bear in mind that the creators of the game capped it at 60 fps. No matter what you do you cannot exceed that limit. make sure you uncheck the V Sync box off. You don't need it and it will increase your fps.
