    Korean war 1950-53

Post by lockie on Wed Mar 09, 2016 1:31 pm

I've inspiration form the one of our forum member. What do u think mates abt. a new Campaign/Area/Idea: Korean war 1950-53?
As my point it is possible to implement. The main problem is - polygon as usually. It does we need new:
    - ground
    - nature
    - houses
    - Korean soldiers uniform
It is a very long future idea, but it is possible to implement.
Send here all materials/staff, which u think will be in use.

The Korean war idea is interesting u7nfortunately it's going to be difficult to find resources to draw from. There are a few rts that featured the Korean campaign. I'll have to look it up.

However may I suggest addressing some missing parts to SF. Like German trophy tanks. There's a glaring gap. The Soviet side has the Tiger, the Panther Ausf A, the Panzer IV f2, the Stug III, the Jadgpanther whereas the Germans only have the T34/76. Any possibilities of getting some KV-1 models , the T34/85 Beutepanzer, some of the light tanks T-26, Bts, T-60, T-70, may be some spgs like the SU-122,-Su-85, Su-76? Giving the Soviet the Panzer III various variants would also make sense. As well having some of the Soviet arty and AT guns which the Germans captured in their thousands in 1941-43.

    There some difficulties with landscape:
    - grass
    - trees
    - houses
    - stones/hills
But we're not in hurry Smile

I may say there will be trophy tank T-34/76 with Commander cupola. I'm not sure all other units like KV-1, BA-10 etc will be implemented as trophy. It could be possible only, if we need such unit for the mission.

Then if missions are needed I will be more than happy to write background texts, mission briefs, provide ideas for the missions etc...

Grossdeutschland & Das Reich used 47 T34/76 during the Kursk battle recording over 44 kills with them.

Sounds as a good scenario for the mission/Campaign!
Could u write down a couple words as for history note there?

Well then make this one a Das Reich campaign! Razz

I'll be home soon so I hope I'll be able to create an SS Panzergrenadier skin mod for the infantry that's to accompany the captured T-34s! Smile

Ok but please no corny title like Nazi Power.

Let's call the campaign Germany's Armoured Fist!( Deutschen Panzerfaust).Let's call the first mission Zitadelle.

I will write a scenario and background text in a few days after doing more research.
