The new machine gun with sandbag emplacement is an excellent addition for the frontlines and maps.

Will a Panzerschreck or Panzerfaust crew be able to use these emplacements also?

    Again excellent work.  Very Happy

Looking forward to this, just noticed the long list of additions and fixes - glad to see the Mg34 will now speak with a single voice!

I have updated some of the links to the NTA mod in the Mission reports at CombatAce to redirect here, so I hope that's ok.

But we need to wait a while, coz I need time to compile the new mod.

    BTW
I've idea to include er training mission in the GMP1.0. What du u think? Or may be include it in the default game training campaign?

Thank u woofiedog for the good words. This idea to implement in the game `bags+MG` was occured to my mind a long time ago. ~4 years long when I started to make my first mission "T-38 tank-scout".
Of course, I didn't have any knowledges abt modding and 3d modeling, BUT I WAS SURE it was possible Wink
So, now we can see it in the game!
But there's one problem. As it appeared MG+bags is kinda candy Smile
Coz now the whole area of the unit became bigger, thus unit `MG+bags` was more vulnerable to the ordinary MG. Same things will happens with Panzerschreck or Panzerfaust mounted on the bags, but I've idea to place them in the destroyed(remains) of the buildings Wink

I mentioned in the edits at CombatAce that STA isn't ready yet so hopefully people will be patient, unlike me Smile

I have done no work (just driving around) on the mission yet. So all there is so far, is what you sent me. I would like to get some real experience of mission design by taking a clone of this and removing the 'live' enemy troops, to make a simple driving mission, to start with. Covering

    (i) driving from the driver's position, unbuttoned

(ii) driving from the driver's position, buttoned up

(iii) contact drills from the driver position (to practice the player in turning quickly to face a threat, when he sees/hears the message 'Contact LEFT/FRONT/RIGHT!')

(iii) driving and contact drills from the tank commander (or gunner) position.

If it's too boring I would let the other two Tigers stay in the mission (instead of removing them) and also prompt the player to practice formation changes and bounding overwatch (after a bit of driving, call the others forward with 'Do as I do' or just let them follow you from the start). Though that might make the briefing too complicated, unless the player is also given a page he can print with helpful keystrokes and advice to refer to, before or even during the mission.

No shooting, I know, but training can be fun, if it is made interesting enough. I had little interest in the Matilda training missions but driving around in a Tiger is a lot more fun. Especially if you know that it is part of a Tiger platoon leader training programme which is followed by your being deployed to the front to do it for real, in a mini-campaign. Ambitious, I know.

But I need to be able to learn how to add not just a mission introduction screen and picture, but also add messages which appear at the right point (time triggered or when you reach a certain spot on the road) and how to mark the route for driving with flags or other marks. A lot to learn, and that's an easy mission with no active enemy. But it would help me learn.

If this works out the missions can be released one at a time, then combined into a Tiger training campaign, then joined by a Tiger operational campaign.

Hi Lockie, any reason to rename the NTA 1.8 as STA 1.0???In my opinion it's going to create confusion amongst a lot of people. Unless STA is radically different from NTA 1.8 I fail to see the reason? NTA1.8 was well known and followed the tradition of naming the new mods  since the release of Ultimate mod 1.5 in 2012. Why not continue in the same line?Likewise, the Mission Packs 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 all the way to 3.62were fine why call them GMPs ...

I understand that part of the reason is to make a clean break with the old forum but at the same time it's the same game we are playing and I am not convinced the new naming serves any useful purpose....Just my own take!

    Hi Lockie,

As a person who just started playing SF a few months ago I want to make sure I understand how to go forward from here:

    Q. I just downloaded NTA 1.8 and all content from that page about a month ago (including optional weather, all mission packs, etc).  So am I current until the first version of STA comes out and/or new missions you post here?

    Q. I think you are asking others who contributed content to the NTA 1.8 post if you can add it here as I've seen another weather mod added to the list in the last couple of days.  Am I correct in that?  So we may, or may not see all content from the NTA 1.8 thread added here eventually based on permission from the mod creators?

Please remember to tell us new guys about any old content from the old NTA 1.8 posting that is no longer compatible with your new content as you go forward.

Good luck with your new work for Steel Fury!

    ...and Thank you  Very Happy

NTA mod is fully compatible with former MP1,2,3.
New mod STA has more new units and differ from NTA. It does I can not guarantee a full compatibility. So far u may use NTA until new missions will be released. I'm planing to make publication 5 new missions from Deviator and include them in GMP1.0. In this case u've to d/l STA or manually provide compatibility (which possible, but complicate for the fresh man).

    Q. I'm planning to transfer all stuff from NTA1.8 here as more as possible. It takes time, so plz be patient.

OK. I hope all materials will be included, though some details will be differ.

Good luck with your new work for Steel Fury!

Only `Africa` and `Winter` needs to be re-d/l. All other I think no need.

    Lockie/Lima,

Are the U.S. tanks from topic http://stasf2008.ephpbb.com/t22-available-units already available in missions included in the 3 mission packs I downloaded in the NTA 1.8 thread last month, or are they new missions?

The three NTA 1.8 compatible mission packs are voluminous and I haven't gotten through even half of them yet! (that's a good thing there is so much content  Very Happy )

I'm only using old terminology until I get my mind around the new terminology for STA Laughing

    Thanks!

Are the U.S. tanks above already available in missions included in the 3 mission packs I downloaded in the NTA 1.8 thread last month, or are they new missions?

The three NTA 1.8 compatible mission packs are voluminous and I haven't gotten through even half of them yet! (that's a good thing there is so much content  Very Happy )

I'm only using old terminology until I get my mind around the new terminology for STA Laughing

    Thanks!

    Hi Kodiak
yes the US tanks are in NTA mission packs - for example the 76mm-gunned M4 is in 'Everything but the bridge!' which is in NTA mission pack 2.1 and the M-22 is in 'Saving General Frinikenko'.

It is Japanese. Google does a pretty fair job of translating it to English.
