    Stug III graphical glitch

    I've found a glitch with the Stug III. There's a gaping crack where there should be a cupola:



    I've not played with Stug III enough before to confirm if the glitch was there before. My settings:
    Steel Sound 2.2
    STA 1.0
    GMP 1.45
    GMP 2.37
    GMP 3.32

    Okay, I saw the crack was there in the interface screenshot. I guess it's always there when the model was created? Also early models (before G) had no cupola. Nevermind then, please ignore this report. Wink

    STUG III C/D has excellent ability to play as Commander and mark the targets for Gunner bounce

    It's not a crack, it's the aperture for a sliding (?) hatch for one of those distinctive German artillery observation sights. Early StuG IIIs did not have a cupola.

    PS Wikpiedia says:

    StuG III Ausf. C: (Sd.Kfz 142; April 1941, 50 produced) Gunner's forward view port above driver's visor was a shot trap and thus eliminated; instead, superstructure top was given an opening for gunner's periscope. Idler wheel was redesigned.

    The artillery sight in the model pic is the V-shaped 'scissors' one in the commander's hatch, on the left behind the gunner; so maybe that gunner's periscope was simply his normal sight.
