    That's a very strange. Check out SSM2.2
There should be many sound files:
    Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\MODS\SSM 2.2\data\k42\loc_rus\sounds\speech\tank_usa

I checked out my SSM 2.2.  It has everything you say it is supposed to.

After SSM has been installed, it should look like this: ...data\k42\loc_rus\sounds\speech

The only problem is I still don't hear the engines or speech when in a US model tank.

Just in case it had to do with my original install, I did another new download and install of the game... I've already downloaded SSM 2.2 and installed it twice.  Still no idea what is wrong.

Would it help to copy the files to the same place in the game files?  I suspect it wouldn't and would probably cause further problems, but I don't know.

It is for the speech. For the tank there are the next files:

Yes, they are all there and I can play them.

You suggested that I may have installed SSM 2.2 incorrectly.  I deleted the files:  data\k42\loc_rus\sounds\speech\ger and - data\k42\loc_rus\sounds\speech\tank from the gam files.  Then I added SSM 2.2 to the MODS folder and then activated it with JSGME.  I thought that was the proper way.  Didi I mess it up?

Is the SSM 2 link broken? It links to an Adfly site and unlike 4Shared, which is ok when you know what link to click - there is no link to download anything, except a (crudware ?) browser update.

    SSM updated to version 2.3
    - fixed incorrect format of Japanese speech

it's possible to implement in SSM, but somebody must take the German phrases through the "radio filter" to get the similar effect.

It's not a problem at all. All u need is - increase the loudness. I.e. 6dB corresponds to 10 times more. So, 3dB would be quite enough.
U may upload here one example and I'll increase the loudness as a standard for the other sounds. I highly recommend to use "Sound Forge". it's a veteran of sound adjusting and a very powerful program. But it needs a user's skill badly.

i still cant decide what would be better to increase the sound or overwrite on SF sound radio effect ,the problem with tvt crew sound that speech is heard after radio hushing sound what encreases delay of command even more.Ill give the link tomorrow.

Post by kotschwanz on Fri Sep 09, 2016 6:26 pm

I am a bit confused because in the "Steel Tank Add-on (Steel Fury)" threat you have a different mod install order then in this one here.Do i have to install STA-1.0 mod before the mission packs or after?
(all done via JSGME so no worrys i know how that works)

The order doesn't matter. I've installed gmps after sta1.0

This is "sounds" folder, not a mod.

The link is wrong to 4shared. Could you repost it, please?

As noted above, the link to SSM 2.3 goes to a deleted file. Also, I have seen people using version 2.41 - is that why 2.3 is gone? Has it been replaced by 2.41? Where can I download this?

EDIT: I found the link to 2.41 over on the STA 2.3 thread

Unfortunately, due to error the file was accidentally deleted. If someone has a copy, then send me a link via PM and I'll restore it.

SSM 2.41 was made for STA2.3
    U may d/l it here:
