    Exhaust Discolored

    Post by woofiedog on Tue Sep 01, 2015 5:12 am

    With the "Weather_Winter_1.82_STA" with the fix applied, the tank exhaust now has a Jimi Hendrix, Purple Haze effect? Shocked

    Wondering if anyone else may have had this phenomenon?

    Tried stripping the game down to just what is needed to run the game to see if something was effecting the winter weather mod. And again with the "Weather_Winter_1.82_STA" applied, still have the discolored exhaust? scratch

    I notice the purple haze too. Perhaps it's because of a change to a "cooler" palette? A blue/purple feels colder than a yellow/red hue. Maybe it becomes too apparent for smoke.

    OK, then we should play with this parameter:
    data\k42\loc_rus\levels\levels\common\common_res.engcfg
    //blue smoke
    //smoke_eng,1,2,0.1,1,1,0.2,0.1,-0.1,0.1,1,0,smk_sphere0,0x0000000a,sh_ablendd,0xffeeeeff,0x00 10 26 ff,1,5;
    replace on 050e65
    "Blue smoke" was made may be two yeras ago, but only now implemented in "Winter mod". It's just candy.

    Try changing the setting to suit your taste. I set it to bfbfbf to make it a light grey mist.

    Well, tried out both fixes for the Jimi Hendrix, Purple Haze engine smoke and either fix overall have pretty good results.

    Also, thank's for the help. Smile

    Fix #1.

    //blue smoke
    smoke_eng,1,2,0.1,1,1,0.2,0.1,-0.1,0.1,1,0,smk_sphere0,0x0000000a,sh_ablendd,0xffeeeeff,0x00050e65,1,5;

    Fix #2.

    //blue smoke
    smoke_eng,1,2,0.1,1,1,0.2,0.1,-0.1,0.1,1,0,smk_sphere0,0x0000000a,sh_ablendd,0xffeeeeff,0x00bfbfbf,1,5;

    My player vehicle/tank is fixed, but the enemy tanks/vehicles still have the "Jimi Hendrix, Purple Haze engine smoke" effect?

    Are there more than one parameter to change other than the parameter listed here? For say in the "STA 1.0 full, FebUpd_2015, JulUpd_2015" files, that also need to be changed?

    lockie...  OK, then we should play with this parameter:
    data\k42\loc_rus\levels\levels\common\common_res.engcfg

    //blue smoke
    //smoke_eng,1,2,0.1,1,1,0.2,0.1,-0.1,0.1,1,0,smk_sphere0,0x0000000a,sh_ablendd,0xffeeeeff,0x00 10 26 ff,1,5;

    replace on 050e65
    "Blue smoke" was made may be two yeras ago, but only now implemented in "Winter mod". It's just candy.

    Again thank's for any help with this matter.  Smile

    If you mean our fine American grown tobacco products, no I quit back in March after a medical procedure's side effects put me under the weather for a while. But I still can remember well those day's back in the 60's. Also can say we did know how to throw a proper party in those long lost day's.

    Oh yes, we had two live local bands at one of our New Year's parties that was held in an old town bus garage, life in a small town was very good back then! cheers

    But back to the "Jimi Hendrix, Purple Haze engine smoke" effect, still have it. Have tried changing the parameters of these files "STA 1.0 full, FebUpd_2015, JulUpd_2015" and reinstalling them back into the game with JSGME with no luck. scratch

    Did u disable "winter mode"?
    Here's default smoke:
    //black smoke
    smoke_eng,1,2,0.1,1,1,0.2,0.1,-0.3,0.1,1,0,smk_sphere0,0x0000000a,sh_ablendd,0xff4D4D45,0x004D2D45,1,5;
    Change -0.3 on 5.0 and see what happen.

    Yes, I disabled the Winter mod and the other mods and then enable it back along with the other mods.

    lockie... Here's default smoke:
    //black smoke
    smoke_eng,1,2,0.1,1,1,0.2,0.1,-0.3,0.1,1,0,smk_sphere0,0x0000000a,sh_ablendd,0xff4D4D45,0x004D2D45,1,5;
    Change -0.3 on 5.0 and see what happen.

    I will give this a try and see if it resolves the Purple Haze engine smoke.

    Thank's for the help. Smile
