    Changing Unit to Player Division

Post by KurtTank on Thu Aug 20, 2015 3:36 am

I had a division of three Tiger II's as my Player Division, and tried to change it to a division of two of same type. That change happened okay, but the old division of three is still grayed out and I can't delete it from the mission.

I don't understand what do u mean, but usually, if smth. wrong then I fix it in the script file.
    1. Open it in the ME

    2. Apply changes with Notepad. Save.

    3. Then press tab "Load" to get changes in the mission.

Just select another group of tanks as the player's tank in the Mission Editor. Click on them to highlight them and at the lower right there's a yellow tab you click on to make the new units the player's one .Once it's greyed out you can go to the units you wish to change and make the change and then click on the yellow tab to make them the player's units again.

That works most of the time, but sometimes it keeps both highlighted and grayed out....then you can't delete the division you have replaced. The problem was I chose a new division name that just included an "a", and that is too similar to the old one. Solved!

It is because the unit is still selected as the players unit, change to something else and you should be able to remove it =)
Did that and both the original division and new division were both greyed out. I think the issue may have been that the new division was listed as ger_tnk_01a and the original was ger_tnk_01......too similar, so the ai read it as both being the Player Tank division. I just changed the listing in LEVELS/SCRIPTS/cm_users/*_scripts for each division and the grey out went away for the old division. Now I can delete if I want.

Thanks, that worked as I just renamed both divisions in the script file.
