When I download this and open JSGME, it says: 'Windows cannot open the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them' . How do I fix this? What can I do?

Do you have admin rights to the PC you are using? That could be the problem.

Did you install your game in the C: drive Program Files X 86?

I believe I have admin rights, but when I open in administrator, the same text appears. This happens when I try to open other mods e.g Steel sound mod.

    Suppose, u've win7 or 8? If so then I can't help. I've win xp sp2.
May be u should provide the compatibility mod with win xp? It should be in the options of the JSGME.exe

yes, I have Windows 7 , I don't know what you mean about the compatibility mod as I when I click on the JSGME program, Windows error sounds and the text pops up.

I have done this, but now when I click it, my AVG anti-virus pops up and says this is A trojan horse virus. If it isn't should I disable Anti-virus , because adding it to exceptions doesn't work. The Windows error does not pop up, now the problem's just the Virus. Is there a more secure download link?

I was downloading it through torrent, which was causing the problem. I have now got everything to work! Thanks!

What version of JSGME do you use?
I use v2.3.0.128 , and IMO it is better then the last issued v2.6.0.xxx (which causes W7 security alerts).
