    The Ambush mission

Post by Barcelona Blom on Sat Jun 20, 2015 12:36 pm

I spent hours yesterday trying to complete this mission and had a lot of fun doing so. I could get two of the Tiger II's but the last one killed my T44 every time - it wasn't frustrating though, I just needed to come up with a better plan...finally I did.

I left 3 burning wrecks on the battlefield and opted not to continue - when I checked the stats there were another 3 Tiger II's that I could have also engaged if I chose to...

Has anyone actually killed all 6 of them ?

This mission would be a great candidate for a 33Lima after action report ( hint hint ) Wink

This mission was made by YL. Originally, there was T-34/85. Finally, I decided to replace on T-44. YL gave me permission and now we've tank with more powerfull gun. I know exactly, YL managed to finish this mission Wink (I didn't Smile

So you are responsible for the T-44 Smile

I have to admit my knowledge of Soviet tanks in WW-2 isn't so good....that one never made it into combat right ?

I used the subcalibre rounds ( APDS ? ) and declined my Commissars invitation to earn further medals Very Happy

It's amazing to kill of the 3 kingtigers. I can finish the mission, because I know the mission is all about. It's like cheating. Very Happy

I think it was a first mission where this tank appeared. As my point it's a good challenge Kingtiger vs T-44.

T-44 never saw the combat even when RKKA had a war with Japan. Though, on May 1945 there were 28 psc built, so theoretically may be a couple ones took part in the battle Wink

My info is that production started in September 1944 and by war end from 150 to over 300 had been manufactured. Total production in 1945 was 940 units.
