    Turret Displacing Mod V4

    The "Turret Displacing Mod V4" is really a feature of the original Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942 game. But at the time was considered too buggy to implement into Steel Fury.

    This mod displaces the turret and gun of the turreted tanks/vehicles off to the side of the tanks/vehicles, after they receive battle damage. Giving Steel Fury STA 1.2 a little eye candy during a mission.  Smile

    So the real question is...  are you willing to try this feature out in your game and are you feeling... Lucky?    Laughing



    If so, just add the "Turret Displacing mod V4" into your game "Mod" folder, and use JSGME to add or to deactivate mod.

    Install order.

    1. Steel Sound Mod X
    2. STA 1.2
    3. GMP1.x (optional)
    4. GMP2.x (optional)
    5. GMP3.1 (optional)
    6. Update X
    7. Any Weather Mod (optional)
    x. Turret Displacing Mod V4

    And also would like to say... many thanks to Lockie with his patient coaching skills and help and too all of the tank sim community that made all of Steel Fury STA possible for all of us.   Very Happy

    But I've one note, u didn't show the installation order. It's important.
    There should be smth. like that:

    I may say it is a very impressive mod! Coz now we've "decapitated turrets", but we've to pay: tanks becomes a bit more vulnerable and some turrets will have invisible parts. Anyway, it is a good chance to diversify the game Cool

    The only problem with that mod is that it makes the tanks more vulnerable to one-shot kills when hit on the turret....That's why I stopped using that feature a while ago.

    frinik...    The only problem with that mod is that it makes the tanks more vulnerable to one-shot kills when hit on the turret....That's why I stopped using that feature a while ago.

    I have been testing with different tanks to see if this mod is making tanks any more vulnerable to one-shot kills after being hit in the turret. So far I have not seen very much of an increase of one shot tank kills even when trying to make all kills by turret hits and also by setting up my player tank for an easy target and kill. But will continue to do some more testing.

    There is a bug with the deform setting, the armor map doesnt work on the turret if you enable it, that is why it is not used. I have a few ideas to try to maybe fix it, but as for now, its just a useless and buggy setting im afraid Sad

    The turret does not get blown off from the tank and then flys into the air with this mod, as it does in the T-34 vs Tiger tank sim game.

    It would be an excellent added feature though for SF.

    In fact, this mode changes behavior of the tank damage. The objective is "p_rothead". Normally, if shell hit "p_rothead" it does turret loosing partly their ability to rotate, but tank still alive. With a new mod applied, tank becomes destroyed.

    The "Turret Displacing Mod" has been updated to the "V3" version that includes the new tank models additions added to STA Steel Fury list of vehicles from our talented STA SF community developers.

    Oh, it's out of question that new tanks and Cromvell as well, should be in the new mod. I just wanted to have a look how it was with a new cockpit technology(cockpit included in hull) and of course, it looked unusual Cool bounce

    woofiedog, I don't know what you did with version 3, I have been using the older version but never noticed any difference. Just now I received a decapitating kill with my T-34/76. I took three 50mm hits, all bounced, the fourth got me under the chin (bulge below the main gun) and off goes my turret. Does it make tanks more vulnerable? Maybe but in a realistic way. Consider the fact that it took four hits and the last one is a lucky shot, I'd say it's "fair". Hey, the same rules apply for the enemy too, don't they? Thank you for the great mod! I'd recommend it to all.

    Lockie... Oh, it's out of question that new tanks and Cromvell as well, should be in the new mod.

    The Cromwell is a real beauty and is a welcomed British addition to SF, with a big hand to all that helped with it's development. Very Happy

    Lockie explained this problem better with the Turret Displacing mod earlier in this thread.

    This is an update V4 version of the "Turret Displacing Mod" for the STA 1.2 Mod of turreted tanks/vehicles.

    Please delete older mod and replace it with this updated version.

    Install...

    Install order.
