Приціл для Кромвеля/Cromvel gunsight, 75mm gun

Post by lockie on Mon Apr 20, 2015 3:34 pm

Необхідна прицільна сітка для нового танку Кромвель з 75мм гарматою.
I need help to get gunsight reticle for Cromvell tank equipped with 75mm gun. There are two:
    No.50x3L Mk I or 2,  No.50x 3ML Mk.
I think they are the same as for Churchill.
That's what I've found so far.

The sight reticle on the No50x3 M.L. Mk II is identical to the No50x1.9 Mk. Its just that the 50x3 ML Mk II is - as its name implies - a three power telescope as opposed to the 1.9x magnification on the Mk I. In addition the "ML" part of the 50x3 ML Mk II uses a moving reticle - the horizontal bar with cross hair and lead lines moves up or down depending upon the range setting of the gunner. Conversely the No50x1.9 Mk is a ballistic reticle, where the vertical bar can also be adjusted side to side by the gunner for deflection, if so desired - crosswind, cant or even target movement, but the gunners rarely used the deflection adjustments and relied on lead lines and kentucky windage for target movement or crosswind and other deflection related error sources.
The No.50x1.9 Mk I was used for both the 75mm Mk.V gun and the 7.92mm BESA. Given in the book as "standard for hull M.G. on 75 mm tanks (British)

    Finally, I've found it Smile
    http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?23623-Cromwell-tank-telescope-sighting

    No.50 gunsight reticle.

It looks very close to No.54 sighting telescope.

I didn't pay much attention to the author's details Very Happy
the fourth and fifth pics are the no.50 which would have been on the cromwell gun tank.

And here is original reticle No.50. It looks a very primitive for the tank 1944 year. As I've uderstood it has been converted from No.33 sighting.

It is in game. It's amazing work by will73!

    No40х1.9мкІ  21degrees

    No54х3мкІ  13degrees
