You can't see it but I'm doing a little happy dance at the moment as deleting those two folders (inf_jpn and tank_jpn) seems to have fixed the memory problems I have been having. With both monitors running, all the ingame options set to max and also running reShade to add AA etc, I can now load missions that were causing the game to routinely crash and then return to the game menu and load another mission that was causing the shader error over and over without problems. Many thanks for your help lockie, I had almost given up hope but now I can start teaching myself how to make missions.

    Thanks again,

That's a good news and bad news.
It is good news, because u've got rid of the error, bad news u can't use Japan speech. We don't have any missions with Japan side now, but in the future they will appear. I don't think u've worse PC then mine "Old Phyllis" Smile
    AMD 6000+(3.1Ghz), 4Gb memory, GTX560, XP SP3.
Thus SF engine doesn't work properly with modern OS. Then, let's try another experimental fix.
    1. Remove folder with sounds somewhere else, ie:
    D:\My_games\Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\data\k42\loc_rus\sounds
    move there
    D:\Temp_games\sounds
    2. Install u01_sound_fix_STA2.1 the last in line
    3. check out the mission, which caused CTD
This fix contains Japan speech. I wonder will it work properly?

Yes it works perfectly. Smile I've just spent a couple of hours testing various missions without a crash and after playing around with the config I am really happy with how the game is looking. I'll post some screenshots in the morning.

Sorry for the double post but here are the screen shots I promised (Click on the thumbnails for full size images).

All taken in Mission 3 of the Fury Campaign

@lockie - I'm not sure whether you've changed the Japanese sound files in any way in the latest sound update or its just the order that I've installed the mods in, but the game is now incredibly stable I can alt-Tab out of a mission, change SweetFX settings, surf the interwebs, open other applications and return to the game without crashes - just like you can in most other games.

Also the desk-top (Ares) I'm running SF on has fairly good specs (see below) so it seems the game can run well on a reasonably new system running the latest Win OS (60 - 100 FPS with everything maxed).
    OS: Win 10
    CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4GHz LGA1151 @4.4GHz
    MB: ASRock Z170 Extreme 4
    RAM: 24GB DDR4 2133 RAM
    GPU: GTX970 4GB

Holy s...t! 24 gbs of DDR4 mem! What a Face

That being said it's probably overkill:

I won't even mention your gpu and cpu who could power a spaceship all the way to Mars!!!!!

    Ares??? What brand is that?

Yeah I know, but I have played around with RAM disks quite a bit in the past in the hope of getting better performance in some games and simulators such FSX, P3D and ArmA3, which are all resource hogs and very CPU-dependent

frinik wrote:Ares??? What brand is that?
No not a brand just the name of my desktop, for some reason I have gotten into the habit of naming all my PCs and laptops after Greek gods. For instance, my daughter's PC, which is made up from all my old bits and pieces is called Artemis and my work laptop is Apollo.

Yeah Arma 3 sucks RAM like candy. I have 16gb of DDR3 RAM myself on my Asus laptop for games like Arma 2 & 3.

A humble report for "Fury" campaign (played under STA 3.1)

First the quality, atmosphere and close to film is outstanding. Well done lockie! cheers

Please check the pics I took specially of the buildings on each mission. That was the bug to hunt here but luckily I have no one disappear or strange glitch. Pure luck? I don´t know  cyclops

Here are some pics of Mission 3. The Town... That was purgatory on earth (mission 5 mission was Hell haha) I had to play the mission several times until I manage to not get destroyed by AT soldiers...

    Pics: http://imgur.com/a/r2Zxz

Mission 4. The Tiger. Like the movie I know that the thing was coming at some place!! Absolute fear inside the Sherman looking until I saw it What a Face My team mates in other tanks get hit but bail out (after I recover some of them and they travel at Fury tank, great feature!) Luckily Tiger fire to them first! (feel bad writing that... poor souls) So I fire with the best round I have and I think I have the luck to destroy the 88mm gun (check pics) That mission was short but very intense. I did it in 3 attempts...

    Pics: http://imgur.com/a/risnI

Mission 5. Hell on Earth. That was a massacre. A close encounter of all kinds  Shocked I did my best to carry all them to the other life with us inside the tank. I know it was a suicide mission. Many times the tank get hit by hand grenades. I almost see the white of the eyes of enemy soldiers. The screams were all around. At the end something finally penetrate the Sherman and the end... I played the mission twice. I know it was the only end possible. I don't think that you can "win" that one killing all enemies...

    Here are the pics: http://imgur.com/a/C4umv

I have a blast with this campaing  Cool  I have to watch the movie once again after... I really never liked the Sherman but this time I have some affection for it at the end Embarassed

    Thanks for these missions!!  sunny

Fercyful, thank u for the great pictures and report!
But I see there is a bug Question
What is this tab for? It's wrong position. I never saw it.

It is gunner's place. Could u upload pictures from:
    - driver
    - mggunner
    - loader
    - commander

Here's updated version of the polygon. I've removed bushes located opposite to the mansion.

Now mission is a bit easy to complete.
Install fix the last in line.

How about to include in Campaign a pre-sequel in Africa?

We should focus on the period 1940-1942 until El Alamein in my opinion. After that it's no longer desert war proper but more like the Italian campaign a war of positions .

Did USA join to British troops in 1942? Hitler declared the war to USA in December 1941.

I think 1943 is the best period for the "Fury" pre-sequel. 1940-42 it suits for the British Campaign.

I know exactly that 1st USA Army and 8th GBR Army met each other in Tunisia in March 1943.

A classical battle could be the battle of El Guettar, of course !

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_El_Guettar

In the good old simulator "Panzer Elite" there are several missions in Tunisia for the US forces... Perhaps we could get inspiration from those missions !

I agree with Txema, Panzer Elite has good Desert War missions that could easily be replicated. But our desert maps lack the rugged type of hills and mountains that you see in Tunisia.

OK, let's take El Guettar battle! I've a polygon, which is similar to the described activities. I see there was a military confrontation between:
    1. allies:
    - U.S. II Corps under the command Lieutenant General George S. Patton
    2. axis:
    - GER 10th Panzer Division under the command Generalleutnant Friedrich Freiherr von Broich
    - ITA 131st Armoured Division Centauro (31th Tank Regiment) under the command General Calvi di Bergolo
    Insignia

US has SPG M10(could be replaced on M36), 75mm M3 halftrack, tank M4A1 Sherman, M3 "Lee".
    German has STUG III/F, Pz.III G/J/N, Pz.IV/F1/2
    Italy has tank Fiat L6/40
There is only one problem - we don't have Italy side neither Italian soldiers. Though I've a 3D model Wink

I'm thinking abt. mission, where garrison of the village, consist of AT guns, infantry and APC M3/75 hold on to positions trying to repel the German attack. Meanwhile, user with three Shermans M4A1 moves to help the defenders.
I'd like to name mission as: Sherman in "fury" to help. Means "Sherman in hurry to help", where fury-hury it is a words playing. Is it correct in English?

mechanic wrote:Italy side would be nice!
I'll think abt. it Smile I've to say to implement the new original model of the infantryman require a very good skill in 3D max and takes approximately two weeks.

Oh, the name "Fury up, Sherman!" has been already used in the mission "Hurry up, Kubelwagen!" I need smth. more and unusual!
What's abt. "Shermans'" hard luck! Or Rock on the "Sherman"!
Also I'm thinking that 3x M4A1 it's boring. There should be smt. more and with a new names!
    Let's say:
    1. Fury
    2. And what the other ones are the most preferable?
Juggernaut, Peggy Lee, Little Willie, Deuse, Mephisto, Arkanzas, Horse' Blues, Cowboy, Horseman, Marry Ann, Little Joe, Thunder Kiss, FatBoy.
Well, I think 3x Shermans(1xM3 Lee + 2xM4A1) would be enough. One M3 Lee and two Shermans.
