    Let's start the mission N2!

    The name is "Do your job!"
    In this mission we've to attack the Krauts defence line and capture it. There will be 4x Shermans with desant under user's command.
    The main problem is - supply all tanks in the squad with a desant infantry. it does all tanks must has chanks/dummies for the the desant (6x men on the armor). Also, I had to re-adjust the polygon to accommodate it to the movie's area.

    First time to implement desant on M4A1/75.
    Well, at least six soldiers on the armor Smile
    In first case one crew-member decided to be on the armor, at second try there were two crew-members. All of them are slightly out of positions  drunken

    Finally, I've managed to force AI to place 6xUSA soldiers on the armor! cheers
    Each time when I try to work with a "desant" it's a big pain in my ass, coz u've to:
    1. force AI to place soldiers on the armor
    2. force AI obey the command of the tank Commander (and after to Sarg' commands).
    More or less it works now. Smt. tells me that as more units will be in STA mode - the more powerful CPU we need.


    American crew received a tanker with a new uniform brown color and slightly updated texture for the helmet.

    First tank M4A1/75 "Murder Inc." with a desant is ready!

    M4A3/76/E8 is about to get desant Smile

    There are two tanks left to get the desant:
    - Old Phyllis (M4A1/76)
    - Lucy Sue (M4A2/75)

    Finally, I've managed to supply all four Shermans(from `Fury` squad) with a desant!

    Moreover, all Commander's tank has ability to control desant and force it(send/formation) according to the current user's request!

    Also, I've re-adjusted desant' animations at the T-34/85.

    Now it looks a bit better than before. Now all units are ready to be implemented into Mission N2!
    I hope soon, mission will be released and all testers we'll have a chance to prove erself - was the movie epizod(4xShermans vs 3xATG) had been based on the real action or not?

    If you're going to do the same with the T-34/76 mod.43 (Mickey Mouse), please wait until I finish modifications to its *.go 3d model file (I'm now WIP with s-chunks of Polish markings, numbers & RUDY). I do it slowly, coz now have many duties.

    On the way to your destination the enemy destroyed one tank and all his crew along with Lt. Parker. Command of
    the tank platoon passed to Staff Sergeant Don Collier "Wardady". At this moment, infantry platoon from Captain Baker' Company got a trap on the field by the enemy machine guns. Three APC M3 were sent in to give a help, but Jerry took them out.\n

    I've lost almost all my infantry. One tank turned down, my tank got severe damage and my trophy was only 7 enemy soldiers. I played on the balance "5". Well, mission wasn't easy, but anyway I got a victory!

    Нема. Це для наступної місії. Всього заплановано 5 місій.
    3-тя це буде захоплення міста. 4-та зустріч з тигром і 5-та перехрестя.

    One thing that would improve the realism and appearance of A/T guns in this mission and in SF generally is some foliage or net camouflage. If YOU were the crew of the Pak 40 in that screenie, you know you would have 'cammed up' your gun, even if you had no time to dig it in. Some local foliage, to break up the hard, man-made lines and flat surfaces.





    Pak 40s in action often had wire attached to their gunshield or barrel, to help attach foliage:



    A few simulated branches on an SF A/T gun's gunshield would be good, and - if not over-done - shoud not be out-of-place in Tunisia, even.

    If the 3-d models can't be adapted to have this as an option, then maybe it would be good to have a 'unit' object that could be placed on a map via the ME, 'camouflaged gun emplacement', into which any A/T gun could be placed, if you want to put one where there are no hedges or bushes on the map.

    I don't think it'll improve realism, coz game engine doesn't care abt. camo. In fact, camo it's a candy. As for user, then as Tanker said: it's already difficult to spot AT guns. It's possible to play with parameter vis_factor

    I agree, but maybe some sort of low-poly reasonable solution can be found, similar to the random camo on the Cromwells already implemented? Smile

I may assure, that if u play without markers, then u don't need any camo net. "Cromvell" was just an will73 inspiration. And I may say there are some users who doesn't like presented camo net and prefer to see this tank "naked" Laughing

    This is excellent start of story! I hope to finish mission N3 soon during February. Unfortunately, tank M4A3/76/E8 is not fully prepared. It doesn't corresponds to the original one from the movie, but soon or later it'll be done! bom

    Don't worry Smile I think I need at least one month (or may be two) to finish the PART of the polygon, where the town battle will take place. I remember the first polygon with town took me ~3 years to implement Wink

    The mission supposed to be easy, BUT a very tricky, coz u've to operate properly with er wingmen. In fact, missions N2,3 are kinda training: how to operate with platoon. Which is really interesting for anybody - veterans or newcomers.

    As for the mission N1.
    I may put the triggers of the victory in the mission.
    I.e.
    1. 5 tanks arrived. Parker say: That's a miracle!
    2. one tank lost, 4 arrived. Parker say: Congratulations! I've 4 tanks!
    3. two tanks lost, 3 arrived. Parker say: Bad things! We've only three tanks.
    4. three tanks lost, 2 arrived. Parker say: Are'u f.cking kidding on me? Two tanks only?
    5. four tanks lost, 1 arrived. Parker say: Get lost, looser. Mission failed.

    I think there should be a stationary microphone on "estrada" building.


    And the piano would be good to place somewhere in the corner of "estrada".


    I don't remember that killed soldier was in fire.

    That 'estrada' building looks a bit modern, even for a town! It was certainly a surprise, to see it first in Villers Bocage, where a war memorial might have looked better.

    Will the church get a hall, attached to it? A medium-sized church, like these in Normandy, is really an essential building, for most NW Europe maps, so it is a very welcome addition.

    dont like missions containing such buildings ...looks poor like super mario game and kills fps...(its positive critic Smile ) .same with night missions ...dont like them .what interesting can be in watching black screen ?
