    Hit sounds on player tank?

    Post by Txema on Wed Mar 25, 2015 5:04 am

    Hi again !

    For me one of the main immersion problems in Steel Fury is that when my tank is hit by a shell I hear almost nothing !!
    I expect that if my tank is hit by a shell, a loud collision sound (and sometimes a explossion sound) would be heard, however in Steel Fury I hear nothing.

    The odd thing is that there is a sound that is actually played when the player tank is hit (or penetrated?) but it is played so quietly that in combat situations I can not hear it. If the volume of this sound could be heavily increaded it would be a great fix for Steel Fury !!

    The sound is defined in the files of the data/k42/loc_rus/levels/levels/cocpits folder, as:

    snd_penetr = inner_penetr;

    and therefore the file played is inner_penetr.wav

    but it is played so quietly that you can not hear it most of the times !

    Could you please check it? Is it possible to increase the playing volume of the sound?

    Hi Lockie,

    Thank you very much for your help !

    Why do "k42menu.program" and "k42game.program" include sound definitions with different values? It is very odd scratch

    I don't know, but u may try to make some changes in the k42game.program, i.e:
    inner3d, 0x90, 2, 2,   0, 0,     5.0,   25.0,   0.8, _sfx, 0, true, 1, 1, 0.1;
    on
    inner3d, 0x90, 2, 2,   0, 0,     5.0,   25.0,   0.8, _sfx, 0, true, 1, 1, 0.9;

    and see how it does.
