    That's a very interesting screenshot. I remember I saw it perhaps a couple times, when tried to enable Object Editor. As I know the game is always start for some reasons so called "local server". if we've a look on desktop icon of the game, we may see the next entry:
    "C:\games\Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\bin\rel\shell.exe"  root\programs\locserver.program

    Well, let's just fix the entry on this one:
    "C:\games\Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\bin\rel\shell.exe"
    then double click fixed desktop icon and see what happen Wink

    Learning

    Post by alpha_1 on Wed Jan 14, 2015 8:54 pm

    Hi Guys;

    Learning I am.  One thing is for sure.  You guys are one sharp bunch of Dudes.  You carry a high level of expertise and I thank the gods of war for youse.

    I got an email earlier from some outfit that signed me up automatically to use it's picture posting service and I'll deal with that shortly.  That li'l ol' screenshot is the dialogue box I keep getting.  I've tried letting it run itself out to see what happens and the result has been nothing, nada, zero.  Maybe I'm not waiting long enough but at my age time is prescious so I don't like to just 'watch the clock', so-to-speak but if it comes up agan I'll be more patient when I see it and give it enough time to play out.

    Lockie, here's what my icon has...... Target "E:\Program Files\SFK1942_02\starter.exe" and below this, of course...... Start In "E:\Program Files\SFK1942_02".  This is a copy of my original install which is on the same hard drive E:\.  I've already installed the SPMs on my original install and thought I'd install the STA Mods into a copy.  Perhaps that's my problem?

    As of right now, I've cleaned all mods out of my 'MODS' folder and am going to start fresh.......again.  As for screenshots, I'm going to pursue that in a bit as I'm right in the middle of a backup and need to let that run its course.

    As usual, I'll be back.  Thanks for the input, Guys.

    Cheers:drunken:

    Lockie, I get that pop up when I open the game from a short cut that I put on my desk top from a copy of the game that has STA on it.  The property of that icon shows this.

    "E:\Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\starter.exe"

    I have another icon on the desk top that does not give me that pop up.  It is also a short cut but from the originally installed version of the game. The properties show this.

    "C:\Games\Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\starter.exe"

    If I to E:\ and start from the starter.exe there it also gives the pop up.

    It only lasts for about 5 seconds before the game starts, so I've never worried about it.

    Incidentally, I have no file with "shell" in either of my installations.

    "Incidentally, I have no file with "shell" in either of my installations." Ditto for me, Lockie

    Progress

    Post by alpha_1 on Thu Jan 15, 2015 1:10 am

    Hi again, Guys;

    Progress has been made.  I managed to get the game to load and played a great scenario with a PzKwg IV.  I tried to play a Mission from GMP 1.3 but the scenario wouldn't load.  What I DID get instead was a notepad message titled 'last_bug.txt.' which read as follows:

    Exception Core:
    006:  Unable to create shader
    [fader]

    I created a shortcut from my main install to the desktop then renamed everything to point to the install with STA MODs in it.  I still got the funny little dialogue box, but the game loaded this time and will run.

    The scenario that wouldn't run and that left me the message was as follows:

    GMP 3.1
    V.  Chernogosti, 26 June 1944, 13:30 (Pz-V).  Perhaps in this instance it was my video card?  At any rate I'm happy to be using the STA Mods now.  I'm going to work my way around and se how things look.

    Thanks very much bounce
