    Weather Winter 1.1 STA

Post by manfas1 on Wed Oct 01, 2014 6:01 pm

I activated Weather_Winter_1.1_STA mod and I'm a little bit disapointed. The landscape looks like in early march - pale green fields with spots of melting snow - should it look like this?

In my opinion version 1.0 looked much better than 1.1 but unfortunately it wasn't compatible with SepUpd2014

I've tried to upload the images in this topic but I've got some problems with servimg.com so I uploaded them on sendspace - unfortunately as new member I'm not allowed to post external links for 7 days. Could I send you the links in PM?

I received screens from manfas1 and it appeared there was error with landscape in the Winter mod v.1.1

    Now error with landscape fixed.

Also I've changed model German artillery man with rolled up sleeves on the model with long sleeves.
    Before

    After

So, now "Winter Mod" has updated index to 1.2.

    U're welcome Smile
Today I played stock mission for the Pz.IV F1 and paid attention on the very strange winter camo. It looks as someone just made a scratches by pencil instead making smth. similar to the white spots.

So, I decided to make a quick texture replacing.

"Winter mod" still has index 1.2.

Welp, the first camo is accurate too, especially for the winter of '41, where they had very lacking winter logistics, even with common whitewash - some crews had to camouflage their tanks with plain chalk by drawing such lines, as the previous camo shows quite nicely Smile

That's a very strange and unpredictable winter camo, which I supposed to see! I'm really confused!
So, what should be done? May be I should also enclose variant #1 with some explanations in readme?

Well, you could include both and make them randomly appearing in the Pz IV platoon Smile

Couldn't you make a identical copy of the Pz IV F2 stat wise and make it use a different skin, and then force the game to choose randomly between the two tanks in a platoon, like the default KV-1 platoon?

It's possible, but in this case there will be model only for the very specific winter camo. For the other seasons there will be two identical models with the same texture.
