    Thanks, it is still a work in progress. Wondering if the volume of the engine should increase more as it accelerates. Doesn't sound quite right. Tracks and gun came out pretty good.

    Altered engine sounds to sound more realistic. Which one is better, higher frequency or lower?

    After listening to real panther engines on youtube I would say lower frequency is closer to reality.

    Agreed, although many of the videos I took the sounds from had a higher frequency due to being recorded some distance away from the vehicle, and the engine being inside the structure.

    I think my sound came from this video:



    Definitely has a deep rumble to it in the video, but in the game the part that I took (just as the tank passes the guy taking the video) doesn't come through very good, so I had to modify the frequency in the tech_config file.

    I also found the lower engine frequency to not have much of an increase in engine intensity during acceleration and is not loud enough when hitting the throttle. This was the happy medium.

    U may try to use both sounds lower and higher. All u need is just make a couple adjustments:
    1. create two sounds, ie
    lower
    - eng_panter_01.wav
    high
    - eng_panter_02.wav
    2. write down in the panther's config, ie:
    Code:

       //engine sound
       snd_engine   =   eng_panter_0;
    In this case the game engine will randomly pick up the sound 01 or 02.
